You don’t need a cabinet full of specialty ingredients to practice magick. Your kitchen is probably already full of things you can work with.

Here are five places to start:

1. Salt Often associated with protection, cleansing, and purification. Use it in spellwork, cleansing rituals, or protective practices.

2. Rosemary One of my favorite multipurpose herbs. Rosemary is commonly associated with protection, cleansing, remembrance, and clarity—and that little jar in your spice cabinet works just fine.

3. Cinnamon Often used in workings connected to abundance, success, warmth, passion, and speeding things along.

4. Honey Perfect for sweetening work and intentions involving love, friendship, kindness, and harmony.

5. A Mug Yep, the mug. It doesn't have to be a fancy chalice to hold intention. Your morning coffee or tea can become a tiny daily ritual simply by choosing an intention as you prepare and drink it..

Start With What You Have

Witchcraft doesn't have to begin with a shopping list. Look around your kitchen. Learn about the things you already use. Explore their correspondences, consider what you associate with them, and get creative.

The point isn't what you find. The point is seeing what it could become.
