What Do I Actually Put in My Grimoire?

Updated: Sep 18
You got the beautiful notebook. You opened to the first blank page. And now… what the heck are you supposed to put in it?
Good news: there are no required chapters. Your Grimoire is supposed to be useful to you.
Here are a few places to start:
Correspondences Keep notes on herbs, colors, crystals, elements, plants, or other correspondences you actually use.

Spells & Rituals Record spells you try, changes you make, what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d do differently next time.

Moon & Seasonal Notes Track moon phases, seasonal observations, sabbats, traditions, or ways you like to connect with the changing year.

Tarot & Divination Save favorite spreads, card interpretations, readings, symbols, and observations from your divination practice.

Recipes Teas, simmer pots, kitchen magick, oils, baths, incense blends—anything you want to make again.

Your Own Discoveries This might be the most important part. Write down the associations you develop, traditions you create, questions you're exploring, and little pieces of magick you don't want to forget.

It Doesn't Have to Look Like Anyone Else's
Your Grimoire doesn't need every correspondence known to humankind or 700 perfectly calligraphed pages. Start with what you actually use. Add what you want to remember, cross things out, change your mind, leave blank pages, stick random shit in there.
The best Grimoire is the one that becomes unmistakably yours.
